Happy Turkey Day ! Gobble Gobble !

Gobble gobble. That is Happy Thanksgiving from the Olson Family! Daddy put THE BIRD on and made the stuffing, mom did the green bean casserole and sweet potatoes and little side dishys. Zachy even had his first taste of sweet potatoes! He loved it! We put a picture of David's first t-giving and then pics of Zachy. See the genetics in play here? David provided the family table with outstanding decorations. He worked on his train a little, and used his bug vacuum to rid the windows of any flies and played with Zachy. Zachy ate, played, and sat in the swing and just looked cute. Great day we had. (Except for the part where Mom left for work. But it was time and a half pay so......) So we hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for, as evidenced by these photos. Now...33 days to Christmas and counting! Gobble Gobble !

Cell Phone Photos

Modern technology. A great thing. I realized I had all these cute shots of the kids and I'm the only one enjoying them as they are on my cell phone. So I thought I'd put them on here for all to see. The last 8 are ones that Matt took with his phone and sent to me. David holding a fish, of course. So enjoy my little pics that I've been keeping from you on my phone. Love them boys. And yes, that first pic is Zachy with a wig on. He looks like a doll. And yes, in some of the pics, David has on a dress. Don't tell his dad.

SPOOKY !! Happy Halloween 2007

Spooky ! David's new favorite word. We've had a great halloween this year. We went to our neighborhood halloween party and David, Zachy, mom and dad marched in the police escorted parade. David thought that was WAY cool. We also had our picture made with Frankenstein ! David met up with his friend and green power ranger, Matthew. Matthew's brother Tommy was looking cute as a pumpkin. And Zach was the perfect turtle. The boys went down inflatible slides, at hot dogs and chips, and played numerous games for prizes. Then, the BIG NIGHT arrived. HALLOWEEN !. The Power Rangers rode in their wagons up and down the street collecting candy after candy. And of course, keeping us safe, as Power Rangers do. And little Zachy, our precious turtle, was peacefully sleeping, missing all the fun. Oh well. He sure looked cute in his turtle outfit (thanks Aunt Denise for the costume!). See our favorite costume of the night, A TACO, and check out our spiders, 1 in the web and 1 on the roof! And see our ghost hanging in the tree and on the porch? SPOOKY !! Happy Halloween from the Olson family ! BOO ! Click on the photo for lots of cool pics ! And visit mattandsally.com for some awesome halloween pics too !

BOO ! FALL Festivals.

BOO ! FALL Festivals.
Originally uploaded by Jennie Olson
Fall in Virginia is just beautiful. The leaves are changing colors, the weather is beautiful, and there are fall festivals every weekend. Here are 2 sets of pics from 2 neighborhood festivals. One is at a nursery where you can go down slides, look in funny mirrors, stand next to SCARY guys, climb on hay bales and roll down hills in giant tubes, go on pony rides and "wobble wagon" rides and even get a "bat with stripes and sparkles, please" painted on your face. You can collect plastic spiders that are ALL OVER THE GROUND and take them home to play with in the tub, or put them on the floor to scare mommy ! There's even a tractor ride through the woods where one can see bats and witches, ghosts and gobblins! Even better, everyone gets a free pumpkin to take home at the end. The other was a local festival where you could where a costume if you wanted . David wanted to. So we dressed up David in Zach in hand me down costumes from cousins Joey and Jacki. Thanks guys! Of course, David had his face painted. Then our neighbors showed up with Matthew, David's best friend. They had a great time on the fire truck and ambulance. We can't wait until Halloween!! Things are getting "Spooky" around here!! BOO !

We love watching you and we are sooo proud of you! And "Uncle" Dillon too (as David says). GO REBS GO ! Oh, and thanks to Jeff for wearing the Rebels tshirt. Never thought I'd see the day........seeing as how Jeff is a grad of Amarillo High, Tascosa's main enemy !!! What is that last picture? A trantula !! It was in the parking lot after the football game. And David LOVED IT !

Fall trip to Amarillo and Colorado

So we took a long needed vacation to Amarillo. We spent several glorious days at home, then went up to Colorado to visit the Ford side of the family and to get some trout fishing in, of course. David rode his Go Diego Go scooter at Grammies. Lookin cool. Our trip to Colorado was full of fishing, fun, family and football. There are a few fun pictures of us at the hotel pool in Colorado Springs. David loves the water almost as much as mommy! We rode a train to Pikes Peak. Fun, cold and .....oh, did I mention altitude sickness for mommy. Oh, well. David ate a pretzel and drank hot chocolate and was in heaven! We stopped off at a fun place called "The North Pole" for David to ride a few rides and see Christmas 24/7. We just had a super duper time. Thanks to everyone for such a great time.

the "End" of fun at the pool

Check out that white bottom and a great tan line !! So the end of summer brings the "end" of fun at the pool. Here are a few pics of David and his best friend, Matthew. Zachy and Matt are looking good too!. Jessica and Tommy are Matthew's mom and brother. Great friends and great fun at the pool . We'll miss you pool. See ya next summer!

Olson Summer- Part 4- Beginning of August

August......more heat and more fun. Aunt Terri came from Amarillo to visit us. We had so much fun! It was too short of a trip!. Of course we spent time at the pool, but we also did some other fun things. The highlight of her visit was our trip to Annapolis, Maryland. We took a boat ride out to a light house. David sported his new green sailor's hat and loved the big ships. He even got to hang out with the captain of the ship at the front of the boat. Then, we went to Buddy's Crabs (just so happened to be next door to Zachary's jewelers. HA!) We ate all you can eat crabs. Check out David's awesome crab hat! We even made it home w/ 4 new crab hammers and a Buddy's t shirt for our Buddy. Thanks for coming Aunt Terri! Please come back soon!

August also brought Daddy's work picnic. We only stayed a little while, as it was too hot outside for Zach. Just wanted you all to see David in his awesome Scooby Doo outfit. He LOVES anything Scooby right now. Looking good Scooby!

Olson Summer- Part 3- End of July

July brought us HEAT and travels. And lots of swim time. Mommy, Zachy and David took a trip to Amarillo. Zachy's first plane ride. We spent nearly every day at "Aunt" Terri's pool. Cousins Jacki and Joey even went with us. Thanks to Aunt Terri for all the swim lessons. David came home a great swimmer! We hung out a Grammie's house with Uncle Hunkie and Aunt Jerry, worked in Grammies flowerbeds and David and Jacki spent lots of fun time at "Jump -n-Jive". BOUNCE BOUNCE ! The kids were ready to get back home to Daddy, as you can see in the last few pictures. Everyone was tired too. I got a couple of pics of the boys napping. Great way to end July.......stay tuned for more!

Olson Summer- Part 2- Beginning of July

Happy 4th from the Red White and Blue gang. We all dressed up in our patriotic outfits to celebrate the 4th. Jeff, Denise, Joey, Jacki and Grammie were still here visiting, so we celbrated PART of the holiday with them. They all took off to the Big Apple, NYC, to see a Broadway show !!! The Olson's packed it up and went over to visit our friends, the Triola's (Margaret is Jennie's super duper friend), and we celebrated with fireworks and yummy food. You can see David laughing at the loud fireworks. He thought they were great but then got "too loud !!!" So he went back in the house to play. We finished up the week with family and carousel rides at the mall. Zachy, of course, got tons of hugs, kisses, cuddles and love from everyone. He's a loveable little guy!

David has been learning to swim. He has a really great friend whose name is, of course, Matthew. His mommy is Jessica and the baby brother is Thomas. We have spent nearly every day and weekend at the pool. David got his mom's genes when it comes to water. He's a FISH!. Here are some pictures of David and his friend, Matthew at the local pool. WE LOVE THE WATER !!!

Olson Summer Part I - End of June

Ok, I finally got around to posting pictures. We've been BUSY around here!. So June, of course, brought us little Zachy. But we also celebrated David's 3rd birthday. TWICE !! We celebrated on June 10th, his actual birthday. Thanks to some serious present wrapping, set up and hard work by Aunt Sally and Grammie. Then at David's request, we had a "Backyardigans Party" with Uncle Jeff, Aunt Denise, Joey, Jackie and Grammie. They were all visiting as Jacki was here for the Junior National Youth Leadership Conference. Way to go Jacki!! We had so much fun! Jacki was a big help with Zachary and David. Grammie and David worked diligently on keeping Mommy's flowers and tomato plant alive. The boys did some serious fishing! What a great way to finish up June, a busy month here in the Olson household. Stay tuned for more summer pictures!

Finally, Zachary John Olson 6-5-07

Better late than never. Finally found a moment to put pictures up of our newest family member. Zachary John Olson was born June, 5 2007 at 4:30 AM. He weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. He looks EXACTLY like his big brother, David, who is madly in love with his new brother. What can we say. He's awesome and getting bigger by the day. Week one, he lost a little weight. Week two, he weighed 8# 2 oz. Week 3, 9 # 4 oz, and week 4, he was up to 10 # 4 oz. and 20 inches long. Perfect in every way. Apologies for the delay, but we are busy here! Thanks to Grammie, Grandma Bee Bee and Aunt Sally for all the help. Zachy misses you all! Welcome Zachary, to the Olson household.

Memorial Day Leesburg Petting Zoo

We had a great day at the petting zoo in Leesburg. The area is so beautiful and we found some fun places to visit on the weekends. David really liked feeding the llamas, "rein"deer , baby goats and baby piggies. He chased a turkey and several chickens, rode a pony and even got a chuckle at the puppet show even though he initially tried to convince his parents that he "really won't like it". Mommy liked the donkey, the giant tortise and the macaw birds. Daddy had to carry Buddy in part of the petting area as those crazy goats were getting rowdy. The camel and llama were pretty cool though. David finished the day with a yummy Sponge Bob Square Pants ice cream bar. Perfect. And for those of you that have been asking for my stomach pictures, look closely and you will get a couple of free shots. Ridiculously huge. Enough said. Anyway, we had a great time over this long weekend holiday!

Mother's Day Sheep Shearing?

Ok, this is a couple of weeks late. Better late than never. David's Pop Pop was in town for the weekend of Mother's Day. We decided to go to the nearby working farm for sheep shearing day. We had a great time! We got to watch the sheep being shaved for the summer, ride a wagon around the park, play with the animals, see the new baby piggies, "ride" a red tractor and do arts and crafts. The little sheep and construction paper placemat that David made are proudly displayed on the fridge for those that will be visiting to admire! What a fun Mother's Day at Frying Pan Park Sheep Shearing Day!

Fishing With Pop-pop

Fishing With Pop-pop

Pop-pop was here this weekend to bring us our boat and do a little fishing in the process. He was let into the secret order of urbanTrout fishermen as our honey hole is a deeply protected secret among a handful of locals. Caught some Rainbows, a couple Crappie, and a few Bass. Overall, we had a great weekend and we miss Pop-pop already.

Rock Bass and Sun Fish

Rock Bass and Sun Fish
Originally uploaded by Jennie Olson.
OK. So all along, we've noted that David has caught "this fish" and "that fish". Maybe these were little "fish" stories of their own, if you get my drift. MAYBE, Daddy helped David just a little bit. But today, after actually digging up the worms in our backyard, David CAUGHT SOME FISH BY HIMESELF ! On HIS fishing pole that really had a little hook on it with the REAL worms. Those crazy fish were biting faster that we could count. We lost count after about 15. So today was a MOST sucessful day for the Olson anglers! If it wouldn't have started raining, we would have been fishing in the dark!
